Aging populations in developed nations cause many problems. One such problem is the widening age gap between the elderly and young generation demographic. Varying lifestyles cause clashes and a distancing of ages. Looking at intergenerational activity between the elderly and the young I have created this drawing on a sheet of A4 which can be rolled to create a representation of a tunnel or underpass, perhaps a stereotypical hang-out of the youthful.
By creating the facilities for shared intergenerational activities the gap can be minimized and an understanding can begin to be developed. Many younger people do not understand where or how food is grown. Wishing to promote this learning in a “dig for victory” style can bring the aforementioned generations together and promote local food production for the future. This is depicted on the opposite side of the tunnel.
